One of the great things about yogurt is its versatility. Not only can you use it in an array of dishes but it can be processed further into a soft curd cheese using a natural acid. The middle eastern people call it labneh, and eat it with bitter herbs on flat breads. Eating it this way is probably too bitter for most South Africans, but the soft curd cheese is excellent, wrapped in herbs and eaten on a cheese platter with olives and red wine.

  1. Dear Sam, the Hermanus Primary are hosting the carnival again this year and I am on the Farmstall committee. We are looking for donations for fresh produce, baked or bottled goods are are keen to ask you whether you would be willnig to assist with a few goods that you produce?

There would be a great marketing opportunity if you are interested.

    Kind regards,

    Janice Taylor

    • Hi Janice. I really appreciate the offer but my February timetable is hectic this year due to prior commitments I have agreed to. I am a small producer so my production is limited. Maybe another time. I wish you great success with your fresh produce stall. All my best wishes, Sam

  2. I absolutely love labneh 🙂
